Currently I'm working on a series of woodblock illustrations for a children's book that features a magical fox with an agenda.
Old photos fascinate me. Who were these people? What's the story behind each frozen moment? My linoleum block prints, based on old photos from various sources, hint at plots as a jumping off point for the viewer who wants to imagine what's just beyond the margins of the snapshot. Why is the boy in the diner hiding his face? Why is the toasting man clutching the tablecloth? What message is on the tag hanging next the kerchief?
