Alison P. Darrow
Alison Darrow’s formal art education ended after two years as a painting major at Bard College, but she has been fortunate in having many mentors -- primarily cartoonists, painters, and printmakers -- over the years. She has created graphic narratives, magazine and book illustrations, animated video shorts, ceramic tile murals, stage sets, floorcloths, album covers, and posters. Recent projects have included relief printing and digital illustration. In May 2020, she completed work on a children’s book (If, On A Summer’s Night...); she is currently exploring ways of combining printmaking with acrylic painting in a series of works about the strangeness of life during the COVID-19 pandemic.
